Once a year, on a Friday afternoon at school,
an animated film. An arrow shot a crane.
Then a girl came to a withered, childless couple
and was beloved. One night they heard strange sounds.
Behind her door, a crane at a loom.

At certain times people are invisible although they're plainly in sight. If your
hostess is not ready to receive you, she's invisible. She may come through the
room where you're sitting, but you do not see her until she bows and greets
you.

Another doll, with dusty hair. Shipped by my mother's friend,
N., who had flown to Osaka for Expo '70, before
her diagnosis with MS. She photographed the doll
before she sent it home. Who guesses the right losses?
On visits, I watched it in its cabinet instead of her stopped face.
